FAQ

Answers to the questions DIB contractors ask first

Straight answers on independence, timing, pricing, and what to expect on assessment day.

Are you an authorized C3PAO today?

ComplyUSA's C3PAO authorization is in progress. We deliver mock assessments using the same CMMC Level 2 / NIST SP 800-171A methodology today, so the work transfers directly into your official assessment once our authorization is complete.

What is the difference between your mock and a real certification assessment?

Same scope, same 320 objectives, same evidence standards. The mock produces a defensible internal record of where you would score on assessment day. The certification assessment, performed by an authorized C3PAO, produces the record submitted to the CMMC ecosystem and SPRS.

How do you keep assessments independent?

Assessor independence is the entire value of a third-party assessment. ComplyUSA screens every engagement for conflicts of interest, and no one who has advised your organization in the past three years serves on your assessment team. That keeps the findings defensible to primes and the DoD.

How long does a typical engagement take?

From kickoff to final report, a Standard-tier mock typically runs about 4–6 weeks; Professional engagements run about 6–10 weeks; Enterprise engagements scale with scope. We share an exact timeline after the scoping call.

What does pricing actually depend on?

Scope: number of physical locations, complexity of the CUI environment, cloud and on-premise architecture, ITAR exposure, vendor/MSP coordination, and existing SSP maturity. Use the free SPRS estimate or request a quote for a number tailored to your environment.

Are mock-assessment fees credited toward certification?

Yes. 100% of your mock assessment fee is credited toward your CMMC Level 2 certification assessment with ComplyUSA, provided certification follows within 12 months.

Do you serve contractors outside Texas?

Yes. We are headquartered in Austin, TX and deliver assessments nationwide. Most evidence review and interviews are conducted remotely, with on-site components scheduled as scope requires.

What if our SPRS score is low or we don't have an SSP yet?

Start with the free SPRS estimate and a scoping call. We will tell you honestly whether an assessment is the right next step today, or whether to address foundational gaps first.
